The glass stem pulls out from the device itself for ease of use portability.The power button is on the top right next to the stem.Once powered on the device begins to heat up and when you have reached your desired temperature you are ready to go.The screen will show a little icon that looks like a cup heating up, and that will mean the device is ready for use.With a three-hour battery life this unit rivals and, in most cases exceeds its competitors and provides a longer lasting charge for more vaping pleasure.The ceramic chamber is a perfect companion, holding plenty of dry herb for several vaping sessions.The OLED screen is easy to read, and the three button control allows you to program your temperature, average session times and view your battery life.For me the battery monitor seemed a little inconsistent, mine would show that the battery was dead, when there was still plenty of charge left available, but if you keep track of you vaping time, you can sort of gauge how long it’s been since your last charge, and this shouldn’t be much of a problem.

It comes in four colors (three pictured above and the new “Carbon Fiber” model).And, like the original DaVinci, the Ascent can be used while charging and has precise, exact temperature control.This is a different vaping experience than most portable vaporizers on the market, as it can do both herbs and concentrates.This unit also has some really interesting features that make using this vaporizer really enjoyable and easy.But before we get into the features of this vape, let’s see how it works.The Ascent is fairly simple to use.To start, you load the material in the chamber (pictured below).The chamber is fairly large and holds about 0.3 grams of material.This is larger than most units, and it works best with a full load in the chamber.You can use screens and other things like that to cut down on bowl size, but your best results will come from a full pack.It is also highly recommended to get screens for the bottom of the chamber, because material that is finely ground will fall through on occasion.

It’s not like your whole load will be falling through, but a few pieces might.As far as turning the Ascent on, you simply press the power button on the top of the unit near the mouth piece.The default temperature is 375º F, and around there is where I have gotten the best results as far as vapor quality goes.But like any vape, perfect temperature is subjective, so experiment to find a setting you really enjoy.When your unit reaches your set temp (only 1-2 minutes), you will see an icon that looks like a cup of soup, and that lets you know that you are ready to vape.Underneath that icon, there is the battery indicator.Unfortunately, this indicator is not the most accurate thing in the world.You will get about two hours of total use out of one battery charge, which is longer than a lot of vaporizers out there right now.Two hours should last about 7-8 sessions, so just remember how many sessions you have had since the vapes last charge and there shouldn’t be any problems.The battery takes nearly four hours to fully charge, but you can use it while charging so the long charge time really isn’t too much of an issue.
