The ECJ ruled in favor of those calling for plain tobacco packaging laws and a ban on flavored cigarettes.The move comes ahead of a new law in Germany that will see pictures of diseased lungs on packs of cigarettes.The European Court of Justice (ECJ) issued a ruling on Tuesday saying a European directive that would allow the British government to enact plain packing rules was lawful - if deemed so UK courts.The ECJ took up the case involving Philip Morris, British American Tobacco and the UK government by examining the legality of rules on tobacco product packaging, health warnings and a ban on flavored cigarettes."The court finds that, in providing that each unit packet and the outside packaging must carry health warnings ... the EU legislature did not go beyond the limits of what is appropriate and necessary," the court said in its ruling.Following the first attempt by cigarette companies to void the regulation, in December, Advocate General of the ECJ, Juliane Kokott, wrote that the tobacco directive of 2014 was indeed lawful.

The success of NATEX greatly benefits the Component.NATEX pays annual royalties to the Component based on consumer sales and in accordance with contractual obligations.These monies are used to improve recreational facilities and offer additional services.Furthermore, NATEX independently donates to Component entities in supplementary support.Over the next few years, the business grew, and in 1987 NATEX expanded by segregating the electronics and cosmetics from the original store into its own retail store.In approximately 1991, clothing was introduced, with Levi’s as the first apparel brand.Merchandised in a small area of the retail store, it too rapidly expanded into the beginnings of its own store, which was then located in what is known today as the NATEX Getranke Markt.Sales in the selection of brands and products offered at NATEX have enabled us to successfully grow to multi-unit stores.Around 2000, NATEX launched an aggressive renovation plan, upgrading all of the stores to ensure an international and one-stop duty-free shopping experience, matched with a ‘superior service’ customer focus.

Component Personnel The component issues 3 different shopping cards to component members based on their entitlements: Green Shopping Card This allows the purchase of any non-rationed items without limit This also allows the purchase of any rationed items based on your ration card (ration cards can be provided by a support unit or the base, depending on your nationality) Typically, all NATO military and civilian component members (except DEU nationals) and their dependents are given Green Shopping Cards* Yellow Shopping Card This allows the purchase of any non-rationed items with a value limit of 75 euros (your total purchase can exceed 75 euros, but no one item can exceed 75 euros) This also allows the purchase of any rationed items based on your ration card with no value limit.(The 75 euro limit applies to non-rationed items only).Typically, German military and civilian component members and their dependents are given Yellow Shopping Cards* Red Shopping Card This allows the purchase of non-rationed grocery items only (no alcohol), with a maximum total sales volume of 20 euros.

You are not entitled to rationed items Typically, Local Wage Rate personnel, Consultants, Contractor, Interns or Temporary Staff and DEU personnel at SanStaffel receive Red Shopping Cards (their dependants are not typically eligible)* Off-base Personnel In addition to component members, NATO military or NATO civilian members stationed in Germany, and their dependants as well as any US military member stationed in Europe or North Africa are also eligible to shop at NATEX.Please review the above on Shopping Cards to understand your entitlements To show proof of your entitlement (if you don’t have a shopping card), you will need to provide the following: Military or NATO Civilian ID or Dependant ID Proof of your permanent station within Europe or North Africa (US only) – this can be in the form of your ration card, installation pass, etc. (a ration card is required in order to purchase rationed items) Personnel on TDY If you are on temporary duties orders to the E-3A Component or any other location in Germany, you are eligible to shop at NATEX.
